Who we are

Diego and Katie created Morfi Tours out of a shared passion for authentic cultural connection. As longtime friends—Diego, a local Argentine chef, and Katie, an experienced Spanish teacher and group travel leader—they saw an opportunity to offer visitors more than just sightseeing. They envisioned tours that dive deep into the heart of Buenos Aires through food, language, and real local experiences. With Diego’s culinary roots and Katie’s background in cultural immersion, they designed Morfi Tours to offer personalized itineraries that connect travelers to the true spirit of the city—one delicious bite and meaningful interaction at a time.

DIEGO FELIX was born and raised just outside Buenos Aires, Diego’s culinary journey began in a vegetarian, macrobiotic household—but his passion soon led him to explore the vibrant flavors of Latin America. Originally pursuing a career in theater, his travels through countries like Bolivia, Peru, and Brazil awakened a deep curiosity for indigenous ingredients and regional cuisines. Food became his true medium of expression.

After training at Buenos Aires Natural Chef and cooking in San Francisco’s celebrated vegan restaurant Millennium, Diego returned to Argentina to co-found Casa Félix, a project rooted in culinary exploration and sustainable practices. Today, he runs Colectivo Félix in the San Francisco Bay Area, hosting pop-ups, private dinners, and events that highlight South American flavors, seasonal ingredients, and small-scale producers. His work continues to connect guests to the rich food traditions of the southern continent through immersive, flavor-driven experiences that connect travelers with the soul of Buenos Aires.

KATIE TRIGG is a seasoned Spanish teacher and passionate global educator with years of experience leading transformative student trips abroad. Having lived for 8 years in Argentina and guided immersive travel programs, Katie believes deeply in the power of cultural exchange to build empathy and global citizenship. Her latest project brings travelers to the heart of Buenos Aires for a one-of-a-kind journey that blends authentic culinary exploration, local connection, and vibrant Argentine culture—all thoughtfully curated through the lens of an educator who understands how to make learning come alive through travel.

Katie’s deep connection to Argentina is also personal—her husband is Argentine, and together they return to the country every year to reconnect with family, friends, and the cultural richness that continues to inspire their work. During her years living in Buenos Aires, Katie was immersed in the city’s dynamic world of dance and music, experiences that continue to shape her perspective and enrich the trips she leads today. From tango to traditional folk rhythms, these elements of Argentine life are interwoven into the immersive journeys she now shares with others.
