THE ANNUAL TRIP · April 24–30, 2027
The Masterclass: An Annual Journey with Chef Diego Felix
Ten spots. One week. The good stuff.
Once a year, Diego opens up his actual Buenos Aires to ten travelers. Not a route pieced together by a tour company, but a week built the way he'd show it to a friend: the asado, the market run, the places that don't have a sign out front.

WHY THIS TRIP
A promise Diego
can actually keep.
THE CONTRAST
Every "exclusive" culinary trip you've seen puts you in a private car so you never actually have to touch the city. We take the bus. We wait for the colectivo. We eat standing up at a parrilla with no sign. Because that's where the good stuff actually is.
THE PROOF
“This isn't a hobby of mine, it's my hometown. I grew up just outside Buenos Aires, and my path to the table wasn't a straight line: a vegetarian, macrobiotic childhood kitchen, a detour through theater, and years traveling Bolivia, Peru, and Brazil before food became how I actually wanted to talk to people. I trained as a chef, cooked at Millennium in San Francisco, and eventually built Colectivo Félix and Fonda Felix back home in the Bay Area. For one week a year, I bring ten people into my actual life here: my grill, my neighborhood, and the friends who happen to be some of the best chefs in the city and outside”
— Diego Felix

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
Don’t take our word for it.
“One of the best trips of recent memory. We toured historic parts of Buenos Aires, from the bustling markets in the historic district to dining at some of the best restaurants in the city, and got to talk to the chefs who run them. From El Preferido in Palermo to a game day in Boca, we really got to experience the city as locals.”
— Michael M.
“I felt like I was on a cultural exchange instead of wandering around like a clueless tourist. We experienced the flavors of the different neighborhoods while learning about the history and artistic traditions of the city. The activities were immersive and the food was amazing, we ate at favorite restaurants of the local Porteños. It was a truly memorable trip!”
— Alex C.
YOUR HOSTS
Diego leads the way.
Katie makes sure it means something.
Diego Felix
CHEF & CO_FOUNDER
Born just outside Buenos Aires, Diego's path to the kitchen ran through a vegetarian, macrobiotic childhood, a stint in theater, and years traveling Bolivia, Peru, and Brazil. He trained at Buenos Aires Natural Chef, cooked at San Francisco's Millennium, and co-founded Casa Félix before building Colectivo Félix and Fonda Felix in the Bay Area — where he still runs pop-ups and private dinners built around South American flavors and small-scale producers.
Katie Trigg
CO-FOUNDER & TRIP LEADER
A local Spanish teacher and longtime group-travel leader, Katie lived in Buenos Aires for eight years and returns every year with her Argentine husband. Her background in cultural exchange and education is why this trip feels curated, not just booked. She knows how to make a place come alive for people seeing it for the first time.

GOOD TO KNOW
A few honest answers
before you commit.
-
Buenos Aires is a big, walkable city. Expect a fair amount of walking most days, some uneven cobblestone streets, and the occasional local bus ride. A moderate level of fitness makes the week a lot more comfortable.
-
US citizens typically don't need a visa for short tourist stays in Argentina, but entry requirements can change.
-
Late April is autumn in Buenos Aires. Think layers: comfortable walking shoes, a light rain layer, and something warmer for cool evenings.
-
Just let us know when you apply. Argentine cuisine leans heavily on meat, but Diego's own cooking background is rooted in vegetarian and plant-forward food, so he knows how to work around most restrictions.
