ABOUT MORFI TOURS

We're not your tour guides. We're just the friends who happen to live here.

Diego and Katie didn't set out to build a travel company. They built a life in Buenos Aires, and started sharing it.

Diego is a local Argentine chef. Katie is a Spanish teacher and longtime group travel leader. They've been friends for years, long before Morfi Tours existed. What started as two people wanting to show the people they cared about the real Buenos Aires turned into something bigger: trips that go past the sightseeing and into the actual life of the city, one meal and one real conversation at a time.

BEFORE THE ITINERARY

We didn't set out to build a tour company. We just kept living here.

Diego and Katie aren't travel agents. Neither of them started in tourism. They started as two people who lived in Buenos Aires every single day: working, cooking, teaching, raising a family, going back to the same market on the same corner for years. Somewhere in that ordinary daily life, they built something a travel agency can't fake. A real network of friends.

01

We live it, not narrate it. Diego and Katie have spent years actually living in Buenos Aires, not researching it for a script.

02

The network came first, the company came after. Every contact was a friend before it was a business relationship.

03

It runs both ways. The trip isn't only an experience for the traveler. It's also a reason for the friends still in Buenos Aires to stay connected: new visitors, new conversations, a bridge that opens from both ends.

That's the whole idea behind Morfi Tours. Not a script. A bridge between two worlds that already exist.

WHO YOU’LL ACTUALLY MEET

None of them are on a roster.

Over the years, Diego and Katie's world in Buenos Aires filled in with people. Not vendors they sourced for a rate. Friends.

Home cooks

Gallery owners

Diego’s neighbors

Wine growers

Chefs across the city

Asado pitmasters

Leatherworkers

Cheesemakers

Tango musicians

Market vendors

They're just people Diego and Katie know, the same way you know people in your own neighborhood. That's what you're actually getting access to.

Diego Felix: the chef who never really left home.

Diego was born and raised just outside Buenos Aires, in a vegetarian, macrobiotic household. He originally set out to be an actor. It was years of travel through Bolivia, Peru, and Brazil, chasing that pull toward theater, that pulled him somewhere else instead: toward indigenous ingredients and regional cooking. Food became the way he actually wanted to talk to people.

He trained at Buenos Aires Natural Chef and cooked at San Francisco's celebrated vegan restaurant Millennium, then came home to Argentina to co-found Casa Félix, a project built around culinary exploration and sustainable practices. Today he runs Colectivo Félix and Fonda Felix in the San Francisco Bay Area, hosting pop-ups and private dinners that put South American flavors, seasonal ingredients, and small-scale producers at the center of the table. Morfi Tours is that same instinct, brought back home to Buenos Aires once a year.

Katie Trigg: the teacher who makes sure you actually get it.

Katie is a local Spanish teacher and a longtime leader of student trips abroad, and she believes, plainly, that travel done right builds empathy. She lived in Buenos Aires for eight years, and the city never really let go of her. Her husband is Argentine, and the two of them still return every year to see family, see friends, and stay inside the culture that shaped how they both see the world.

During her years living there, Katie was immersed in the city's world of dance and music, and that world still shows up in how she leads a trip. She's the one who makes sure a moment doesn't just happen in front of you. She makes sure you understand what you're looking at.

WHY THIS COSTS WHAT IT COSTS

This isn't a side project. It's the same work Diego already does.

Diego's day job, if you can call it that, is running Colectivo Félix and Fonda Felix in the Bay Area: pop-ups, private dinners, and events built around South American flavors and the small-scale producers behind them. Morfi Tours grew directly out of that work. It's the same instinct that runs the trip: find the people actually growing and cooking the good stuff, and build everything else around them. Years of relationships, not a rate card, are what you're paying for.
